Thank you for your trust. National Immigration Administration (NIA) is well aware of the significance of personal
information and will take appropriate security measures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations to protect
your personal information at all costs. In light of this, we (the App and its service provider) have developed the
Information Protection Policy (hereinafter referred to as "the Policy"). We kindly remind you that the Policy shall
apply to all products and services of the National Immigration Administration App (hereinafter referred to as "the
App"), including its mobile app and other functions/services that are plugged into third-party smart hardware,
software, or services as third-party services.
Before using the products or services of the App, please carefully read and thoroughly understand
all content of this Agreement (especially those in boldface) and use products or services only after confirming that
you fully understand and agree. Once you start to use the products or services of the App, it is assumed that you
fully understand and agree with the Policy.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about the content of the Policy, please contact us through the
contact information provided at the end of this text.
Special note:
The Policy shall not apply to the services provided to you by other third parties through the aforementioned web pages
or clients.
For example, if you download and use third-party apps via the App or acquire services by the App, the Policy shall not
apply to any information you provide to third-party programs.
Part I Definitions
Services of the App: The multi-terminal platform and mobile app developed and operated by the service provider for the
App to deliver online government services of NIA. This includes the services provided by the App and other services
provided by integrating some functions/services of the App into other third-party software and/or smart hardware as
third-party services. The service provider for the App: the Information Technology Department of NIA that develops and
provides products and services for the App (together referred to as "We").
Personal information: Any information recorded in electronic format or by other means that, when used alone or with
other relevant data, can identify an individual, or reflect the situation of the individual.
Sensitive personal information: ID number, exit-entry document number, exit-entry records, cellphone number, personal
biometric information, bank account, property information, whereabouts, transaction information, information of
children aged 14 and below, etc.
Deletion of personal information: The act of removing personal information from the systems when
dealing with daily operations to protect it from being retrieved and accessed.
Part II Legal Statement
I. Copyright
The logo, texts, graphics, and their composition, as well as other marks, emblems, and names of the App Services are
all registered trademarks by NIA in China and other countries. No one shall display, use or process (including but not
limited to copying, transmitting, displaying, mirroring, uploading, and downloading), or indicate to others that you
have the right to do so without the written authorization of the App.
The intellectual property rights of products, services, technologies, and all applications or their
components/functions (hereinafter referred to as "Technical Services") of the App are all owned by the App or the
copyright holders. Unless otherwise stated, the App owns all copyrights (including but not limited to copyrights,
trademark rights, patent rights, trade secrets, and all other related rights) of the information (including but not
limited to texts, graphics, pictures, photos, audio, videos, icons, color schemes, layout designs, and electronic
documents) issued on it. No one shall use the above content (including but not limited to monitoring, copying,
re-transmitting, displaying, mirroring, uploading, or downloading any content on the App through programs or devices)
without the permission of the App. Those who are authorized to browse, copy, print, and distribute the information on
the products and services of the App shall not use it for commercial purposes. The use of such information and any
part of it shall be included in the copyright statement.
II. Limitation of Liability
Users can upload, provide and publish relevant information on the mobile version and official website of the App,
including but not limited to user names, company names, contact information, relevant pictures, information, and so
on. Such information shall be provided by users, who are fully responsible for any information they provide according
to the law. We hereby remind you that you shall abide by the laws of the People's Republic of China when using the
products and services on the App. Any act that may endanger cyber security is prohibited. No one is allowed to use the
products or services of the App to engage in activities that may undermine the reputations, privacy, intellectual
property rights, and other legitimate rights and interests of others. In spite of the reminder above, we will not be
liable for your purposes and use of the products and services of the App.
III. Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
We respect intellectual property rights and oppose and crack down on infringements of these rights. Where any
organization or individual believes that the products and services provided by the App may have infringed on their
legitimate rights and interests, a written notice may be submitted to us in the following form, and eligible notices

I. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information
(I) How we collect your personal information
We may collect and use your personal information for the following purposes as described in the
Policy:
1. To help you become a user of the App
To become a member of the App for our services such as immigration policy inquiry, authoritative information release
from NIA, exit and entry offices inquiry, exit and entry documents inquiry, exit and entry records inquiry, online
appointments for exit and entry document processing, problem feedback, notifications, and announcements. The App,
which can run in three modes, namely silent mode, background running, and foreground running, will collect, use and
save the following personal information related to you. If you do not provide relevant information, you may not be
able to enjoy the following services provided by the App.
- When logging in, you need to authorize the App to acquire your ID information and password or enter it by
yourself.
- When registering, you need to enter your ID information, cell phone number, and SMS verification code.

When you download and use the App for the first time, you need to authorize the App to use your location
information, WLAN/cellular, photos on your device, media content, file access permissions, and device information
permissions, so as to make access to location services, service usage, and message notification service available.

When you use the face recognition feature, you need to authorize the App to use your camera permissions. You
do not need to provide relevant information if you do not use this function.
To create an account and password to access the App, you need to provide several kinds of basic information such as
cell phone number, name, ID card, and entry-exit documents. You do not need to register as a member and provide the
above information if you only want to use the basic services and introductions such as browsing and searching for
information on the App.
Where you have the need for document processing and inquiries, or entry-exit records inquiries via the App, you need
to complete your account information by providing additional information, such as your facial features and face
photos, so we can provide you with the corresponding products or services of the App. If such information is not
provided, the personalized products or services may not be available, but you can still use the basic functions of the
App and browse the information in the App.
Once becoming the App's user, you can modify personal information, such as name and phone number,
to name a few. If you close your account, we will stop providing you with products or services, delete your personal
information or anonymize it as required by the applicable laws.

To provide you with intelligent hardware and/or software, page display, and search results that
better satisfy your needs, aid you in understanding product adaptability, and identify abnormal account status, we
will collect and associate information about your usage of products and services. Such information includes:
Device information: We will receive and record information related to your device (software and hardware
characteristics, such as device type, operating system version, device settings, and unique device identifiers) and
device location information (such as IP address, GPS/BeiDou position information and sensor information such as WLAN
access points, Bluetooth and base stations) based on specific permissions you grant during software installation and
use.
Log information: When you use the products or services provided by the App, we will automatically collect details of
your usage. For instance, the content of your search query, IP address, browser type, carrier, the language used, date
and time of access, and website history.
Please note that using information of individual devices or/and log information is unable to identify a particular
natural person. If we combine such non-personal information with other information to identify a specific natural
person or use it alongside personal information, this will be treated as personal information during usage. Such
personal information will go through anonymity and de-identification unless we obtain your authorization or otherwise
required by laws or regulations.
When you contact us, we may store information such as your correspondence/call records and
content or the contact information you leave in order to contact you or help you solve your problem, or to record the
solution and result.
3) Information we collect while you use the personalized recommendation services
In order to provide you with better and more personalized services, during your usage, we will collect information
including device information, logs, and service usage information. By doing so, we can provide more personalized
services with consistent experiences on different servers or devices, recommend services that better fit the needs you
input, push user services or information, help you better understand product suitability, and identify abnormal states
of the account.
Log: When you use the mobile app, we automatically collect and log details of your usage. This includes your IP
address, browser type, carrier, date, time, duration of access, software and hardware characteristics, and service
cookies of the App.
Service usage information: We will record the information submitted or generated when you use the
App's products and services, and settings information (such as password storage, automatic login, general settings,
privacy settings, and message alerts).
4) Information provided by third parties
The App will collect information about you when other users perform operations related to you. It
may obtain your personal data information from third parties cooperating with the App or through other legal means.
3. Providing you with security
We may collect or integrate your user information, service usage information, device information, log information, and
information that is shared by our partners, upon your authorization or in accordance with laws, with the intentions of
preventing, detecting and investigating acts of fraud, infringement, security hazards, illegality, or acts that
violate agreements, policies or rules.
4. Instructions on acquiring third-party applications
We use the Umeng+ software development kit (SDK) for mobile statistics. The App will collect
your personal information, including device information (IMEI/Mac/android ID/IDFA/OPENUDID/GUID/SIM's

We use Baidu Map SDK for mobile positioning. This will collect your personal information, such as device information
(including Android ID, operating system version, device brand and model, device configuration, app information (app
name), location information (GNSS information, WiFi address and signal strength, base station ID data, operator
information, sensor information, device signal strength, IP address, and Bluetooth information), and WiFi connection

5. Other usages
We will seek your prior consent before collecting your information for other specific purposes
not specified in the Policy.
The above information is collected and used by the App to better operate products and services
(including but not limited to providing you with personalized services). We may do so by means including but not
limited to website notification, email, telephone calls, or messages.
If we cease the operation of the App, we will promptly stop collecting your personal information.
We will notify you of the cessation of operation in person or by public announcement, and delete or anonymize the
personal information we hold.
(II) How we use your information
We collect your information to deliver services and improve quality. In order to do so, we may
use your information for the following purposes:
1. To provide you with the products and services of the App that you use, and maintain, improve
and optimize these services and relevant user experiences;
2. To prevent, detect and investigate fraud, infringement, security hazards, the illegality of
violations of our agreements, policies, or rules, to protect you, other users or the public, and our legitimate
interests, we may use or integrate your user information, service usage information, device information, log
information, and information that our partners have obtained your authorization to share or are required to share by
laws, to make a comprehensive determination of your account and transaction risk, and to conduct identity
verification, detect and prevent security incidents, and to take necessary recording, auditing, analysis and disposal
measures in accordance with laws;
3. Other usages requiring your permission.
II. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
To make the experience of your access easier, we will apply various technologies to collect and store data generated
while you use the products and services of the App so that we can identify you and analyze data to provide better and
more services. We may use data files to identify you so as to learn about your usage habits, save you from repeat
submission of your account information, or help determine the security of your account. Data files may refer to
cookies, Flash cookies, or other local storage in your browser or associated applications (collectively referred to as
"the Cookies"). Please understand that some of our services are only available through the use of the Cookies. In
certain cases, as a result of refusing Cookies from the App, you may find that some of the features in the App that
rely on Cookies will be unavailable.
III. How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Your Information
(I) Sharing
We will not share your personal information with companies, organizations, and individuals other
than the service providers of the App, except in the following cases:
1. Sharing under legal circumstances: We may share your personal information as required by laws and regulations,
resolution of lawsuits and disputes, or administrative or judicial authorities.
2. We will only be able to provide the products and services you have requested by disclosing your information.
3. When you are the subject of a complaint for infringement of intellectual property rights or
other legal rights, it is required to disclose to the complainant the information necessary for complaint processing.
(II) Transfer
We will not transfer your personal information to any company, organization, or individual.
(III) Public disclosure
We will only publicly disclose your personal information when:
1. We may publicly disclose your personal information only with your authorization or based on your voluntary choice;
2. If we determine that you have violated laws or regulations or seriously violated the rules of the relevant app
agreement, or to protect the personal and property safety of app users or the public from harm, we may disclose
personal information about you with your consent in accordance with the laws or regulations or the rules of the App,
including the relevant violations and actions taken against you.
(IV) Exceptions for obtaining prior authorized consent
In the following circumstances for sharing, transferring, or publicly disclosing personal
information, prior authorized consent is not required:
1. Circumstances related to national security or national defense security;
2. Circumstances related to public safety, public health, or significant public interests;
3. Criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, and judgment enforcement;
4. Protection for your life and the lives of others, property, and other significant legitimate
rights and interests where it is difficult to obtain your consent;
5. Personal information that you disclose to the public on your own;
6. Personal information collected by the App from legal public disclosures, such as legitimate
news reports, and government information disclosure.
According to the law, the sharing or transfer of personal information that has been de-identified and ensures that
such information cannot be restored and re-identified by data receivers will not be regarded as an act of sharing,
transferring, or public disclosure of personal information, and the storage and processing of such data will not
require separate notification to you and your consent.
IV. How We Protect Your Information
We will take various precautions in protecting your personal information from loss, embezzlement, and misuse, as well
as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. To ensure the security of your personal information,
we have put together strict regulations and handling procedures and established a special information security team,
within the company, to enforce the foregoing measures.
The App has been developed based on advanced information security management systems which focus on data and data life
cycle management. As a result, we can comprehensively improve security on different levels from different
perspectives, such as organizational establishment, system design, staff management, and product technology. To date,
our important information system has been approved for the Level III Security Protection Certification.
We will take reasonable and practical steps to avoid collecting unnecessary personal information
and keep the information for a period limited to that necessary to achieve the purposes described in the Policy,
unless an extension is required or permitted by laws.
In the case of a personal information breach, we, according to the requirements of laws and regulations, will inform
you of the basic situation and potential impact, measures we have taken or will take to handle the breach, suggestions
on preventing and lowering risks, and remedial measures that will be taken for you, within 30 calendar days after the
incident occurs. To inform you of the relevant situation, we will use emails, letters, phone calls, or notifications.
When it is difficult to inform the subject of personal information individually, we will proceed with reasonable and
effective ways to publish the announcement. Meanwhile, we will report the disposition of personal information breaches
as required by relevant regulatory authorities.
The Internet environment is not safe at all times, and while we have these security measures in place, please note
that there are no "perfect security measures" on the Internet. We will do our best to ensure your information
security.
V. Protection of Minors
We attach great importance to the protection of minors' personal information. If you are a minor, you are advised to
ask your parent or guardian to read the Policy carefully and use our services or offer information to us with the
consent of your parent or guardian. Where we collect personal information from minors with the consent of their
parents or guardians to use our products and services, we will only use, share, transfer or disclose this information
as permitted by laws or regulations, with the expressed consent of the parent or guardian, or as necessary to protect
minors. We will adhere to relevant laws and regulations of China in protecting the personal information of minors.
VI. How Your Personal Information Is Transferred Worldwide
Generally, personal information collected and generated through our operations in the People's Republic of China will
be stored in the People's Republic of China. For users who use products and services of the App outside of the border
of the People's Republic of China, in order to use products and services of the App, you agree that the personal
information generated during your usage will be transmitted and stored on the servers within the People's Republic of
China. In this case, we ensure that your personal information is adequately and equally protected in the People's
Republic of China.
VII. How This Policy Is Updated
Our privacy policy is subject to change.
We will not limit the rights you are entitled to through the Policy without your permission.
For major modifications, we will inform you more promptly (via a call for comments, a public notice, or even a pop-up
alert via the App).
Substantial alterations within the meaning of the Policy include but are not limited to:
1. Significant changes in our service model (i.e. the purposes of processing user information, and methods of that);
2. Enormous changes in our control rights or organizational structure (i.e. changes in ownership caused by business
restructuring, bankruptcy, mergers, acquisitions, and so on);
3. Any change in the main target of user information sharing, transfer, or public disclosure;
4. Any change in the department responsible for handling user information security, contact information, and complaint
channels;
5. High risk indicated in the user information security impact assessment reports.
