See the following for details about the personal information collected for each feature.

1 How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

1.1 We will provide you with the services described below through HUAWEI AI Life. To fulfill our contractual obligations, we will process information required for providing the services as described below when you use them. If you do not provide the related information, your use of the services in this app will be affected.

1.1.1 Account login

To log in to the HUAWEI ID server to authenticate user identity and obtain server access permissions for the AI Life app, we need to collect your HUAWEI ID, nickname, and profile picture information.

When you use AI Life services and manage your smart devices, we will collect and use your personal information in the following ways: the HUAWEI ID information and password you enter will be encrypted and sent to the HUAWEI ID server for login authentication. Such information you enter will not be stored in the app or on any server.

If you do not provide such information and have not logged in to your HUAWEI ID, you will not be able to use AI Life services. After logging in to your HUAWEI ID, the AI Life app will automatically obtain your account nickname and profile picture and display them on the app screen.

1.1.2 Basic services of smart device management

To discover smart devices and connect them to a WLAN, the AI Life app requires your phone's Location permission and needs to obtain the WLAN information (Wi-Fi list, Wi-Fi name, Wi-Fi status, and Wi-Fi password). The aforementioned information is only used locally on your device and will not be uploaded to any server.

To make it easier for you to link devices, you can enable Remember password in the AI Life app. Your WLAN information (Wi-Fi password) will then be encrypted and stored locally in the app, so that you will not have to enter the WLAN information (Wi-Fi password) again the next time you link such devices. However, if you do not enable Remember password, your use of the device linking feature will not be affected.

If you use a Huawei phone or router that can automatically obtain the WLAN information (Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password), the WLAN information (Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password) will be automatically filled in for device linking.

To allow you to link, control, and manage your smart devices, and to deal with their faults, we need to collect your following information: HUAWEI ID, device hardware information (including the device name, device model, device version, and manufacturer), device identifier (including SN), MAC address of the IoT smart device connected to the WLAN, Bluetooth MAC address, NearLink MAC address, IP address, device data (including system status information), operating system, personalized device settings, system logs (including service events), sensor information (water immersion, smoke, temperature, humidity, human presence, and area entry/exit detection information), and device status and running records. The purpose of collecting such information is to link smart devices, control and manage devices, set device properties and parameters, check device running status and historical records, conduct statistical analysis, monitoring, and research on the device and service operating status, locate problems, and improve the quality and services of smart devices.

We will use your personal information in the following ways: The aforementioned information will be transmitted and saved to the server in encrypted form, and the AI Life app will query data from the server and display the data on the device screen based on your authorization.

To determine the service area and provide you with the corresponding app version, we need to collect the mobile country code (MCC) of your SIM card.

To provide you with multilingual services, we need to collect your system language settings.

Only when you use the device discovery, linking, control, and management features of this app, will we collect information as described above. We will only locally read the MCC and language settings and will not upload the data to the cloud.

If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to use the AI Life app to discover, link, control, or manage devices.

The purpose of collecting such information is to authenticate the login of routing devices, check their working status, statistical reports, and historical records, configure and manage the routing devices, and provide you with the quick configuration feature. For mobile broadband devices, their IMEI, IMSI, ICCID, contact information, and battery level information will also be collected for mobile broadband device management and UI display. The battery level information is only applicable to E5 devices.

To enable you to share content through mobile broadband devices without mobile data consumption, we need to obtain your Gallery information for sharing images. Your image information is only used for sharing between devices on the local LAN and will not be uploaded to any server.

If you use the AI Life app to remotely manage a router through the cloud, for example, check the device's status or change its configuration, all the control commands will be forwarded by the server. Data involved in the commands, such as the following, will not be stored on any server: IP address, MAC address, device identifiers (SN and DEVID), WLAN information (Wi-Fi list, Wi-Fi name, Wi-Fi status, Wi-Fi password, and Wi-Fi parameters), administrator account, router login password, device model, device hardware information, operating system, Internet access type, system settings, system properties, and device usage information, as well as the MAC address and IP address of each device connected to the router. In the case of managing a LAN router through its WLAN, the PPP account information will be used in addition to the preceding data, and the aforementioned information will only be used locally and will not be uploaded to any server. In addition, the parental control feature for the router requires access to your Gallery information (including images) to allow you to customize profile pictures for devices connected to the router. This data will not be uploaded to any server.

For gateway devices, including the smart space host, various types of PLC gateways, Bluetooth gateways, and Zigbee gateways, the basic information about the gateways and their subdevices needs to be collected. The information is collected for you to view the working status of the gateway devices and their subdevices and control and manage these devices, as well as for providing software update services for these devices. To complete the network configuration of WLAN-capable subdevices connected to a smart space host, the WLAN information (Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password) needs to be collected in addition. The WLAN information (Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password) will be transmitted in encrypted form between the smart space host and the AI Life app, and will not be stored on any server.

For cameras, intelligent door locks, and multi-functional gateway devices, the following information needs to be collected: videos, images, and sounds recorded by the devices, custom profile pictures, nicknames, ringtones, message file data, device status and running records of door locks, and battery level information of door locks. The purpose of collecting such information is to check the working status, monitoring information, and historical statistics of the devices. Passwords used for unlocking door lock devices will not be saved in the app or on the Huawei server. Huawei will not and cannot obtain or delete your password. Gateways that come with the message leaving feature will collect your messages and periodically remind you of the to-do items that you have set. Your message data will be encrypted and stored on the gateways.

For audiovisual devices, including speakers, projectors, TV sets, and set-top boxes, the following information needs to be collected: basic app information (including the app name), videos and images recorded by the devices, and interaction records (including playback records). Such information will be used to push the user experience improvement survey to you.

After you choose to take our survey, Huawei Device Co., Ltd. will collect your device identifiers (such as SN of the Smart Space host and UUID of the control panel), basic app information (including the app version), and interaction records (including your survey answers) to analyze your experience in using the product. For details, please refer to the Statement About User Experience Improvement Survey and Privacy("https://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/cloudservice/ai-life-china/terms.htm?country=CN&language=en-us&branchId=201").

Only when you take our survey, will we collect information as described above. To ensure your data security, we will upload the aforementioned data to the cloud through encrypted transmission.

If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to provide feedback on the product experience. However, this will not affect your use of other features of AI Life.

Only after you enable the message pushing feature, will we process information as described above. You can disable this feature by going to Me > Settings and disabling Notifications.

To ensure that this app can receive broadcast messages pushed by the client when it is closed or running in the background, the Xiaomi Push SDK needs to use the auto-launch capability and will send broadcasts through the system at a certain frequency to trigger auto-launch or secondary launch of this app. Such behavior is necessary for fulfilling the features and services. Related content will then be opened, if you have enabled push messages in the app management section. If you have not enabled such notifications in the app management section, the secondary launch will not take place. The Xiaomi Push SDK provides its push service only on Xiaomi phones or tablets.
